Guide
TikTok safe zone for 1080×1920 videos
TikTok draws its own interface on top of your video: tabs at the top, the like/comment/share buttons on the right, and the username, caption and sound name at the bottom. Anything you put under those is hidden for most viewers.
The margins this checker uses
On a 1080×1920 frame, keep text, logos and key faces out of these edges:
- Top: 220 px (Following / For You tabs and search)
- Bottom: 480 px (username, caption, sound and any ad call-to-action bar)
- Right: 140 px (the button column)
- Left: 60 px
Why templates online disagree
Safe-zone templates quote different numbers because TikTok changes its layout, ads get a bigger call-to-action area than organic posts, and phones have different screen shapes. Treat any template, including this one, as a starting point.
The surest check is to preview the video in the TikTok app (or the ads preview) before it goes live.
How to fix text that sits under the buttons
- Turn on a safe-zone overlay while you edit, not only at the end.
- Put captions in the middle band of the frame, above the bottom 480 px.
- Keep lower-thirds and end cards away from the right edge, where the buttons are.
- Check every caption style. Long captions wrap and grow downwards.
Check your export in seconds
